Step One

Step Two
After you have placed your order you will receive a confirmation email from us. The confirmation email will contain a secure link with directions for you to upload your files to us as well as provide us with a little information about your book. (this email can take up to 2 hours to receive)
Step Three
The final email of this process will be sent after we are in receipt of your manuscript and it has been reviewed. If we anticipate any issues we will include these concerns in our correspondence. EBOOK ONLY – If no concerns exist, you will receive an email stating “Congratulations, your book has been converted, formatted and distributed”. If you are ordering POD service, you will receive a proof within 5 business days.

After your title has been listed with us for 12 months, you will be invoiced $45.00 for the “Mandatory Annual POD Renewal”. This will allow your book to continue being listed as well as your digital files maintained on various POD servers worldwide. You will receive the invoice via email and through your First Edition Design Publishing online account. You are welcome to pay advanced years by using the ‘click to order’ button on our website. Ingram Advance is a monthly print catalog that Ingram Book Group distributes to booksellers and libraries around the world. Titles are eligible to be included in Ingram Advance only once when they are first released. Therefore it is imperative that if you are interested in this opportunity, it must be ordered with your initial POD/Print order. With this marketing opportunity, Ingram will produce a short description of the title—using your short and long description as a guideline, retail pricing information and a color cover image will also be included.
Distribution – Ingram’s 13,000+ customers, 6200 book retailers, 7000 librarians and 120 international accounts. 6 titles are listed on each page of the catalog.
Titles submitted to Ingram Advance will not appear in the catalog until 3-4 months after the title has been submitted to Ingram—titles are submitted to Ingram approx. 24 hours after final approval of your interior and cover proofs. The three to four month lead-time is attributed to the lead-time necessary for print production processing of the catalog.

This program allows your POD Perfect bound/Paperback book to be marked returnable to the brick and mortar booksellers for the life of your book as long as it stays under the FEDP imprint. This program is essential if you want your book placed on a shelf at any of the commercial book sellers. Please visit our FAQ section for further details regarding the return program. If you order this program after your book has been in our system, it will take 15-60 days for the ‘returnable’ status to update in the databases of the brick and mortar booksellers. This is not an automatic global program, this program is active per territory.
If you pick this option, your royalty will be calculated and placed under a trade discount of 53% instead of our standard 40%. The two main components needed to have your book on a shelf require the 53% discount, and the Bookseller Return Program.

This service is offered for those that do not have a digital file and only have the actual print book on hand. We will scan your book page by page and create a workable digital file suitable for any of our publishing services. Our capabilities can handle over 150 languages. We will return to you a PDF file. You will not receive your book back as it will be deconstructed during processing. You are responsible for shipping charges as you are responsible for sending us your book to be processed.
